Ricky Martin is showing off his twins. In the new edition of People magazine, the Puerto Rican music star can be seen proudly carrying his two boys, Valentino and Matteo, and displaying them for all the world to see (and envy). Back in August this year, a representative for Ricky Martin broke the news that the singer fathered twin boys via surrogate mother. "In recent weeks, Ricky Martin became a proud father by the birth of twin sons," the rep announced to the media. "The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky's full-time care."

And he seems to be enjoying his new responsibilities as a father. In the accompanying interview, Ricky Martin says he is very happy with the arrival of the boys. "Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life," he admits. He even proudly announced that personally takes care of the twin without a nanny, something so fulfilling as a parent. Here is an excerpt of that interview courtesy of People magazine.

Describe this time in your life.
"I'm so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life."

How hands-on are you as a father?
"I don't have a nanny. I'm doing this on my own because I don't want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I'm taking care of them, but I'm the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense."

Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
"Adoption was one option, but it's complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, 'I'm going to jump into this with no fear.'"

Tell us about Valentino's and Matteo's personalities.
"Valentino loves to sleep. I call him 'Mr. Peace and Love' because he's so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!"

What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
"I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance."

While the news and photos of Ricky Martin's twins are welcomed by most in the industry, it also revives questions about his sexuality. Ricky Martin's sexual orientation has been the subject of tabloid and internet speculations for years and this recent development only added fuel to it. Why, you may ask? Because Ricky martin seems to be following in the footsteps of Clay Aiken!

Like Ricky Martin, suspicion surrounding Clay Aiken’s sexuality has been fuelling tabloid stories since he stepped onto the American Idol stage in 2002. Earlier this year, Clay Aiken announced the arrival of his son, Parker Foster, via a surrogate mother. Following this, Clay was subject to even more speculation of homosexuality. In September of 2008 Clay Aiken confirmed he was gay to People Magazine.

This parallel between the two entertainers have lead people to further speculate that Ricky Martin is also gay.
