Is Disney superstar Miley Cyrus dead? Did Miley Cyrus really die in a car accident caused by a drunk driver? Rumors about Miley Cyrus' death are again circulating the web, spreading like wildfire worse that the one currently raging in California and causing panic among thousands of her teen fans, some of whom are too young to understand that there are sick people around the world with nothing to do but to spread false (and wicked) rumors like this. Of course, it's not true! It is yet another hoax, like the one about Lil Wayne a few weeks back or a similar Miley Cyrus death rumor a month ago.
Remember the other Miley Cyrus death rumor in September, perpetrated by people who obviously hadn't spent that much time in school (or at least paid attention to spelling)? They posted this piece of
news and spread it through social networks to cause the needed snowballing effect.
Actress Miley Cyrus Died in Terrible Car Accident
Teen star of the hit Disney television series “Hannah Montana” Miley Cyrus appears to have died in a tragic car accident in the early hours of Friday morning. The young starlet was on her way to the filiming [sic] of the upcoming “Hannah Montanna” [sic] Series when her vehicle was reportedly hit by a large truck. Witnesses estimate that the colliding vehicle was travelling [sic] at “At least 55mph” and had “Run a stop sign.” Although rushed in a [sic] critical condition to Pacific Alliance Medical Centre [sic], the news broke quickly amongst reporters that the teen had succumbed to her injuries during surgery.
Notice the number of misspelled words? He he. These guys were so stupid that they even spelled Hannah Montana wrong, and were stupider still for not knowing how to use Spell Check on their PCs. This hoax was further supported by someone who posted “news reports” that Disney teen superstar is dead. Although it is unclear where it began, the prank includes a “Yahoo News” report, as well as a very fake “Fox News” video on YouTube. The very sick prank also tries to pass off a photo of the Nikki Catsouras crash as Miley Cyrus' "car accident." Nikki Catsouras was the 18-year-old who was decapitated in a tragic car accident while driving her father’s Porsche. Graphic photos of the accident were leaked onto the internet by the California Highway Patrol.
Spreading false death rumors in cyberspace has been very rampant lately, and many celebrities have already been victimized. But like I said in my Lil Wayne "death" post, it may well work to their advantage. For one, the publicity is good. After all, even bad publicity is good for their careers sometimes. For another, according to some Asian superstitions, false death rumors will only bring the victim longer life.
I'm sure this is not the end of this. Rumors about Miley Cyrus dying in another way will surface again in a few months, and judging from the trend at which these hoaxes appear on the web, expect the next one in January! He he.
