'Kill the Lights': Britney Spears' Kill the Lights leaked: lyrics / video

Another song leaked on the internet? Are we supposed to believe that these weren't leaked by the song's producers themselves to drum up advance interest for their products? It seems like every new song is leaked on the web these days and I have yet to see record labels complaining about it. Well, for Britney Spears' (allegedly) newly-leaked song 'Kill the Lights', I don't think they'll complain either. Searches for 'Kill the Lights' lyrics and 'Kill the lights' videos are climbing up the charts. However, I can't help but ask, "Is this really a new Britney Spears song?" We'll find out sooner or later, won't we?

Fresh from twin wins at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008, one for 'Album of the Year' for her album Blackout and another one for 'Act of 2008' and recent live appearance at Madonna's 'Sticky and Sweet' Tour at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles (with ex Justin Timberlake
- though they didn't perform together), Britney Spears seems to be riding on the crest of success with another single destined to top the charts. Internet response has been very favorable and it'll surely pick up more steam in the coming days. Not bad after the success of 'Womanizer'. The single was released to radio stations on September 26, and on October 15 the song made a record-breaking jump to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking the record set by T.I.'s 'Live Your Life'. It also garnered first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003.

'Kill the Lights' has the Britney Spears sound written all over it, a sure formula for success. Typically pop in sound and lyrics, I'm sure Britney's fans will love it, my niece included. But for me, I think 'Womanizer' is better. (No official video can be found for this song yet so let us be content with a 'video' I found on YouTube. I'll replace it with the real thing once the it is out.)
