who won second McCain Obama presidential debate (video)

While everybody who watched the second presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain were eager to hear what each candidate was going to say, I think more eyes were focused on John McCain. He is, after all, trailing in almost all the recent polls and his candidacy
desperately needs a good shot in the arm to stop the Obama momentum. Voters were also keen on one very important issue, probably the issue that will determine who will be America's next president - the economy. McCain and Obama have very diverse ideas on what it will take to put the economy back on track. Obama wants to raise taxes and increase spending, while McCain supports tax policies that create jobs and expand the economy. But how would they sell it to the public? And how would the town hall set up of the debate work for or against each candidate?

Well, round two is over and I think Barack Obama won this one too. More than the issues discussed during this second presidential debate, I think Obama clearly showed us that he was more presidential. He was sharp and cool under pressure, stressing his points on every issue articulately (as always). McCain, on the other hand, seemed uneasy. The pressure to win this debate clearly showed as he was more aggressive than usual, more forceful. And what's with the "that one" on Barack Obama? Did he forget his opponent's name all of a sudden?

They were polite, but the strain of the campaign showed, clashing repeatedly on foreign policy and economic issues. In one pointed confrontation on foreign policy, Obama bluntly challenged McCain's steadiness. "This is a guy who sang bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, who called for the annihilation of North Korea — that I don't think is an example of speaking softly."

The town hall format has been touted to be John McCain's strength and many were expecting for him to shine in this second presidential debate. Well, he actually did well but Barack Obama did much better.
