Timing is everything. It can open doors of opportunities even when least expected, or it can cause misfortune and headaches. Just ask Levi Johnston and I'm sure he'll agree. Levi is the latest internet sensation for all the not-so-right reasons. He, and his myspace.com account, have been the subject of an intensive internet ~~rape~~ manhunt ever since it was revealed that he knocked up the 17-year old Bristol Palin, daughter of the surprising vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Poor Levi Johnston. He he. He would have happily existed in oblivion, playing hockey in Alaska were it not for a series of events that led to the headaches he is now facing.

Let's cut to the chase and leave the baby making part out of this post. We all know how that happened. Levi Jonhston's misfortune started when John McCain, the Republican presidential
nominee, stunned the whole world by announcing that his choice for VP was Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Levi must have been stunned too, in a positive way. After all, his girlfriend's mom was going to be a VP candidate, and with a good chance of winning at that. He probably thought it was going to be cool. Little did he know that that was the start of his troubles. Poor Levi Johnston.

In the name of transparency, the new candidate for the second most powerful position in the world's most powerful country had to disclose everything, the juvenile pregnancy of her daughter being one of them. That piece of revelation further shocked a nation still recovering from the impact of her announcement as VP prospect. The public's reaction? Look for the culprit! Who did this (?) to Bristol Palin? Who was the guy responsible for this pregnancy? Will he marry her or run away? What does he look like? What are his plans? Poor Levi Johnston.

Almost instantaneously, it was announced that they were to marry. Don't worry, everything's going to be alright. They're going to get married was the unspoken message of the announcement. Was this really the plan or is this just being done to save face? If Sarah Palin hadn't been named as VP candidate, was marriage an option? Levi Johnston, on the other hand, seems to have no other choice. With the whole country looking and the candidacy of his mom's girlfriend hanging in the balance, there was only one path to take - marry Bristol. Some say it's the right thing to do, others say it's political exploitation. Whatever it is, only Levi and the Palin family know for sure. You know what I think? It's the modern version of a shotgun wedding! (Ha ha, just kidding!) Poor Levi Johnston.

Overnight, the internet was abuzz with his name, Levi Johnston. You really can't hide anything in cyberspace and this is proof of that. Soon, his myspace account was located, and virtually raped! Everything he had in there was opened, exposed and spread like an epidemic to a public hungry for ~~information~~ gossip. I even found a dotcom website in his name, most probably set up by an enterprising individual ready to cash in on the young man's fame (infamy?). Poor Levi Johnston.

Now there is word that Levi Johnston will be with the Palin family when they face the GOP convention tomorrow. Yup, the baby daddy will be there to face the public for the first time. Detractors say this is definitely political exploitation. The general public, on the other hand, is just plain curious what will happen. For sure, Sarah Palin won't be the only memeber of the entourage the public will be scrutinizing. Poor Levi Johnston.

Where will all these lead Levi Johnston? Only fate and timing know for sure. We'll have the answer in a few months, if Levi will remain a "poor Levi Johnston" or the lucky bastard who married the Vice President's daughter!
