Kara who? Never heard of her before. Though news articles say she is a Grammy-nominated song writer, the name definitely doesn't ring a bell. But the bigger question is, with Kara DioGuardi's entry an the new American Idol judge, will somebody be axed? Was last season Paula Abdul's last with the hit reality show? Or will it be Randy Jackson's time to bow out as American Idol judge?

The American Idol site reports that Kara DioGuardi will enter the scene as the fourth judge, meaning no one will be fired (for now?). In the hopes that she will add a new dimension to the judging process and add fresh inputs, Miss DioGuardi will sit on the panel as the fourth (new) American Idol judge together with the three mainstays. The show needs help for season eight and many fans have let it be known that they believe Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson add little to the show. Can

Certainly, another female perspective will be welcome, or shall I say a sober female perspective! It seems that no one really takes Paula Abdul's inputs seriously especially with her blunders last season. Remember the "your second song" comments on Jason Castro when he has only sung once? He he. But I must admit Paula is good entertainment nevertheless. And how about Randy Jackson and his "Check it out, Dawg" comments, not to mention the ever reliable (and overused) "pitchiness" remarks. Don't they just irritate you sometimes? Simon Cowell is the only credible judge on the show, never mind if he gets carried away with some nasty comments sometimes.

As the new (fourth) American Idol judge, it is hoped that Kara DioGuardi can deliver some good critique and doesn't fall into the trap where Paula and Randy now reside as being more of a distraction to the show as opposed to adding some substance to American Idol.
