There I was inching my way up, and every step was an adventure. As I climbed the steps of the Sydney Harbour Bridge I couldn't help but be awed by the structure I was climbing - a magnificent work of art in steel and concrete perched across the blue waters below. And the view was equally awesome, it was spectacular! You could see for miles around. And there not too far away was the other gem of the Sydney skyline, the Sydney Opera House. But as I looked down on it blood seemingly rushed to my head. I had to close my eyes as the dizzying spin started. That's when I woke up!

It was a wonderful escape and I was sorry that it ended so soon, a welcome respite from the ho-hum dreams I've had recently. As I sat on the bed startled, I kept wondering what triggered my Australian imaginary adventure. I have never been there, though I have seen countless
documentaries on the National Geographic and Discovery channels to be awed by its many wonders. Then I remembered something. Early yesterday morning, still reeling from the excitement of the Olympic opening ceremony, I chanced upon an article about the Sydney Olympic Games held eight years ago. Afterwhich, I read another post about the current Australian Olympic team, its swimmers in particular and a boxer named Brad Pitt. That must have been it. I don't exactly know how dreams work or how our psyches select which a subject but my short Australian read yesterday was the only thing I could think of.
As I prepared to get back to sleep, how I wished that my abruptly interrupted dream would continue, minus the dizzying spell of course. A trip down under may take quite some time to realize, if at all, and this imaginary Australian adventure would be the closest I would get.
I didn't get my wish of course. I would have loved to continue my Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, explore the Opera House or even swim the depths of the Great Barrier Reef. Very rarely do dreams get a sequel, especially good ones. Suffice it to say that I woke up disappointed. However, I consoled myself by Googling for photos of Australian sights I would love to visit, and here are some of them.
