I read this piece of good news online a few minutes ago and just couldn't wait to tell everybody. Yup, the reigning American Idol will be having his first post-Idol show in the Philippines in January 2009. This was announced by David Cook himself when interviewed on a radio show in North America. The exact date is January 27, 2009 but the venue is yet to be announced. However, knowing how popular David Cook is in the Philippines, the Big Dome will most probably be the concert venue.

David Cook is immensely popular in the Philippines, even before he won American Idol. This was evident as the competition was drawing to a close as blog after blog were singing praises to him and his talent. Forums were no different. Though other Idol competitors also had their share of local fans, David Cook was the choice of the majority. And when local radio stations
started playing his songs, they immediately topped the charts. My personal favorite, Always Be My Baby, even stayed at number 1 for weeks! And if you're still unconvinced at just how big David Cook is in our neck of the woods, look for his search stats at Google Trends.
I can't wait for January. Once tickets for this concert go on sale you'll definitely find me and my friends lining up as early as possible. We've learned our lesson. We'll miss Daughtry's show tomorrow because concert tickets have been sold out for months and we won't let this happen again. Oh no, not with David Cook!
