What is your blog's readability level and what does it say about you as its author? These questions entered my mind as I took the blog readability test I first encountered through blog hopping, with the result is pasted on the right.
What does this mean? Dos this mean that my blog is more accessible to the average reader, or does this result mean that my English writing is undergraduate level? Ha ha ha. Poor me, I wasted a lot of money on a college education from one of the best institutions in the country only to find out that my writing skills are just "fair", to say the least. And what does this say of my alma mater too? He he. But is blog readability really important? Does a high readability level equate to quality content and thus, more traffic? Or will this turn off some readers (sorry, I don't mean to insult your intelligence here)? On the other hand, will a low score attract more visits from readers because of its simplicity in presenting topics and discussions (no insult intended
here too)? Hmm, what do you think?
But rather than take this test seriously (who does?), I decided to have some fun with it. I took the test for some highly rated blogs in the blogosphere, and guess what, some even rated lower than mine! He he. On the other hand, other sites I never thought would rate high got a "genius level" ranking! What?! That just goes to show how reliable this test is! How naive of me to be so affected with the ranking I got. Besides, I don't even know what parameters it uses to come up with such results. For all I know, it may all be one random guessing game at the click of a mouse. (Update: I just found out that a cousin's blog got a "genius" rating! He he)
To have more fun with it I have decided to turn this into a tag (my first). Yup, at least let's get some backlinks and Technorati authority from this. It's pretty simple. Just follow these rules:
***** Start Copy Here *****
1. Take the Readability Test for your blog(s) here.
2. Paste the result on your site.
3. Copy and paste this tag on your blog (make sure to include the links).
4. Add you link to this tag.
5. Tag as many friends / readers / victims as you want!
1. Read my Mind 2. Add your link here
***** End Copy here *****
Isn't that simple? Now for this tag (the first meme I've started), I am tagging the following friends: JoanJoyce, Liza, Teacher Julie, Mariuca, Meeya, Ambo, DonPepot, Kat, Manilenya, Farah and anyone else who wants to join in.
Thanks in advance guys (read: I beg of you, please support my first tag venture)!
