It’s the worst day of my life! That’s what I usually tell everyone around me whenever I have a cold. Give me any other minor ailment (except a toothache) and I can take it, going about my daily routine in peace. But give me a cold and you’ll hear me complaining endlessly.

The drastic changes in the weather have taken their toll on me, not to mention the late nights due to my blogging addiction. It started with a few sneezes yesterday morning, gradually worsened into a runny nose and then to a clogged nasal cavity and a severe headache when I woke up this morning. And worst of all, I could find no cure for it. Some people get relief with the usual cold remedies – pills, herbs, alcohol rub – but not me. I usually have to wear it out and that’s a good

3-4 days! So there I was an hour ago, Googling for the latest remedy the internet could recommend when I found it – SEX! Yup, you read it right. I had the same reaction too, but reading through the article led me to conclude that it was legit.
Apparently, scientists have recently proven that the physical activity of sex not only has a positive effect on the overall physical condition of both partners but also on their immune systems. The reason? Cells called phagocytes which help the body rid itself of various ailments. Swiss researcher Manfred Schedlovski found in his experiments that during and after sex, the number of phagocytes increases significantly, often doubling. This in turn enables these cells to detect and destroy antibodies more quickly which can drastically shorten the recovery time! Further research is being conducted but his theory is already gaining support among his colleagues, not to mention overly enthusiastic couples out to test the capability of their phagocytes! He he.

Much as I am inclined to believe this theory, I cannot help but ask myself the following questions: Does sex for one count? How can sex even be appealing with a runny nose, or a clogged one? How is sex possible when one of you really has a headache? He he. I can just imagine the following bedroom scenes.
“Not tonight dear, I have a headache.” “But honey, this may be the cure to your headache!”
Or, “Are you done?” “No, that was just my nose dripping!” Ha ha ha.
But enough of that. Time to put this theory to the test and produce some phagocytes, alone!
