It was the wrong time for an attack and I knew it. No, nothing serious, just one of my rare bouts with depression. I usually solve this easily. I go to the mall and shop it off! You'd usually find me in tool/hardware shops, bookstores and gift shops buying knickknacks I'd usually have no use of. However, it was too late for that. At two o'clock in the morning, no shop was open to help me out of this one. Food was out of the question too. It doesn't work for me. Then I remembered a place that once helped me out many months ago, YouTube!

After a few clicks at some of my old favorites, I knew my problem is solved. The smile (and laughter) was back! Though I watched several videos last night, two old favorites brought the house down. The first one is "Maritess versus the Superfriends", a hilarious parody on the life of Filipino domestics abroad conceptualized by US-based Pinoy comedian Rex Navarrete. It's the story of Maritess, a poor, naive girl from the boondocks of the Philippines who was hired by the
Superfriends as their maid. I discovered this video almost two years, laughing and rolling till I cried. And, though I have seen this clip many times since then, last night was no different. It completely wiped away any hint of gloom from me. Watch it again as it may have the same effect on you.

For a nightcap, I also revisited an old favorite, the "Evolution of Dance" video by Jason Laipply. Not only was his dance funny, it also reminded me of myself and the crazy moves I did when I was younger. I was laughing so loudly at his antics that it woke my mom in the next room. Sorry, mom. He he.

So here's a tip, next time you get that depression attack, go to YouTube. It's cheaper!
