nba superstar kobe bryant arrived in manila last night (reportedly in a private jet, wow!) as part of his supernatural asia tour 2007, which launches a basketball footwear named after him and conduct a basketball clinic for young pinoy players.

he went to several venues throughout the day. nike outlets, a press conference, but his most notable engagement of the day was the basketball clinic held at ultra in pasig city. snippets in the evening news showed local fans in sheer delight as kobe showed them his moves. the luckiest ones were the young guys chosen to play with/against him during the clinic. lucky bastards!

they were giving out free tickets to this clinic over the radio (magic 89.9 of course!) daily since last week. i tried to enter the said contest for three straight days but, as usual, i failed to win. my bad luck streak hovering over my head, still. it would have been great to see him in person!

postscript: congatulations to kobe bryant and thank you. thanks for visiting manila and bravely defying negative travel advisories that have kept a good number of celebrities and artisits from stepping foot in the country!
